AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Upon renewal they messed up the renewal and charged me for the renewal domains went into quarantine, wanted to charge £30 to fix even though it was their fault, websites off-line during all this and said it would take 3-7 days to get out of quarantine called the registrar direct "eurid" they said it was no cost and could be done immediately re registered with a better domain company gandi.net they took over the domains instantly. Websites back online within a hour or so.

Requested refund for the renewal payment as I paid through gandi (A lot cheaper) then I could not login to 123reg no email no letter no warning no notice, but found out when calling them on 02085877558 free version of their 0845 number. that the account was disabled due to a paypal dispute.

To reactivate my account they want £60.
I only want to do this to get all my other domains transferred to gandi.net

I've had a good experience with 123reg. I transfered 12 domain names to them from UK2 because they offer free redirects. Support answered all questions online within 20 minutes to an hour as I was confused about DNS changes. Otherwise I can't fault them, the only problems were due to my lack of knowledge.
You should try dealing with UK2!! Nightmare compared to 123REG.

I am annoyed with this company also. Overnight a page of ours simply vanished from our website. I contacted 123-Reg and they replied stating that there was nothing they could do. No explanation was given nor any solution proposed. What is the point for creating a website if pages within it can simply vanish without trace? A complete and utter waste of time and money... This could happen to you too! Beware!

123-reg is very devious. If you want to cancel your auto-renewal the wording they use makes you think you are cancelling your domain names all together. When I saw this I thought ‘hang on, I don’t want this’. So I could not find out where to cancel the domain renewals and thought I will just transfer them before the domains expire. But they billed me anyway stating that I did not cancel the auto-renewal (I did not get past their devious trap, you see ...) and they refuse to refund me. I can’t even mange to delete my card details so they stop stealing my money.

I have a domain registered with 123reg, I actually had a few and as others have said they were ok. I seened to have been getting a good service from them for a while. I then got an auto renew which I was not happy about. they refussed to give me back the funds, having paid by paypal i was protected and the funds were returned to my account, however, other domains that i had with them were blocked access.

I spoke to them on the phone and was told that the domain i had left with them was blocked and they are not giving me access to it. If anyone knows of a complaints body I can contact then please let me know I want to transfer the domain and I am not bothered about the loss of the money for the domain name but i want the domain back. Anyone know how when they will not allow me to access the account please? Jim (definitely would not use them again)

I've been using 123-Reg as the domain registration facility for my WebFusion VPS 2.0 server and have had no major problems with them. I don't use their hosting facilities just their domain acquisition facilities but in terms of domain acquisition I've had no issues. To be honest if you are trying to host multiple domains as part of a website creation business you're better off using either a virtual or dedicated server in any case, and for that I'd recommend WebFusion, really inexpensive and a really good spec.

I cannot believe this 'thread' is still running in 2010!
Is that company still working? Wow.
I moved to from 123-reg to Yahoo!smallbusiness.
That was crap too 'cause I was stuck with the PHP-Nuke CMS; and that's just real bad. No clean urls... Yuck! :0(
Then I moved to the Drupal CMF on a2hosting.com
Now I can smile! :0) The internet has never been so good.
:0)
Take my advice. Switch!

What a load of BS this company is. Seriously!
My FTP is not working for some reason and I have done everything imaginable to fix it.

Nothing has changed on my end. Nothing and when I contact support they don't know what to tell me.

I have had a complete nightmare with 123 reg and took all my sites over to tmd which have shown me that not all hosting companies are bad.

I bought the instant traffic package from 123 and it was a waste of time. when i was with 123 reg my site kept on going down and i was chasing them all the time to get it sorted.

my advice is stay away from them, there are lots of better companies out there

I have been with 123-reg for about 4 years and had no problems until today. I have jst taken ownership of a shiny new Blackberry, my old one was looking a bit battered and the rates with this other company very attractive. The problem came when I wanted to set up my email. I keep getting error messages telling me that the details that I have input are incorrect. I know they are not as I must have put them in a million times. I go on to the support part of the 123-reg site - what a waste of time. The first response was a machine generated load of bunk having no relationship to my problem. I then got a second response confirming my accoucnt details - which I already knew, a third response told me to upgrade from pop 3 to a mailbox which I did - no change whatever with the problem. I am still waiting for a further response from them. No phone numbers anywhere on the site. Trawled the net and found one 0871 230 9525 - closed outside office hours. Time to find another host for my web site me thinks - bunch of tossers! The sooner this lot go bump (and it wont be long) the better for all of us!
