Kieren – hope you’re good mate. I saw your book reviewed in a free newspaper that’s given out to commuters in Sydney each day after work (like Metro in London). Short but sweet review – and book of the week. Sounds interesting and as an IP/IT lawyer I should probably read it!!!

Re: TV movie. Yeah, only if it *really* looks like a TV movie though. Actually I had another expression of interest yesterday or the day before. And this one appears to be from a proper company rather than some bloke in an Internet cafe in LA dreaming of his big break.

I read sex.com last night, absolutely fascinating story. I’ve followed the story for years via The Register, and it fleshed that out wonderfully. There is a lot of legal information in there, but I felt it was well explained and deciphered for non-lawyers like myself. Thank you very much. Any plans for a TV movie of it a la Pirates of Silicon Valley?

Hey Max,

Ah yes, my first summary of your review was accurate, my second quick summary slightly off. I still there is a history of the Net to be written that would be a fascinating read though.

Too many of them concentrate on the engineering or the controversies, rather than the rise of this extraordinary global medium.

It’s not quite true that I said it should have been more about the history of the Net. I said that some explanation about domain name registration and how ICANN came about might have set it more in context. I certainly wouldn’t have wanted another book about the history of the Internet.

Still, at least I actually read it, so I’m one up on many reviewers.
